A US law firm is seeking to hire a Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Associate (1–7 PQE) to join its dynamic team in London. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading, globally integrated practice at the cutting edge of privacy, cybersecurity, and AI law.
The firm’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team is known for its multidisciplinary approach and its ability to navigate complex, high-profile issues for top-tier clients. The team works across a broad spectrum of industries, including technology, finance, healthcare, energy, aerospace, and transportation. They represent major global corporations, including Fortune 500 companies and prominent private equity firms, providing expert advice on everything from regulatory compliance and breach response to privacy litigation and tech advisory.
Role Overview
The team have capacity to bring on an associate at the junior end, and at the mid to senior level. They are looking for experience in privacy and cybersecurity, preferably gained at a top-tier international firm. You’ll work on a variety of key issues, including:
- Advising on cybersecurity preparedness and incident response
- Managing regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, particularly with UK/EU regulators
- Assisting clients with building GDPR and UK privacy compliance frameworks, including NIS2, DORA, and operational resilience laws
- Supporting M&A due diligence and data privacy aspects of transactions
- Drafting privacy policies, data protection agreements, and notices
- Providing counsel on AI governance and emerging tech issues
A strong passion for cybersecurity, data protection, and emerging technology law is essential. As the field of AI continues to evolve, the firm expects you to stay ahead of developments and actively engage with the latest trends and innovations.
