Real Estates Disputes Solicitor - Senior Associate

Birmingham – £75,000 - £90,000

Senior Solicitor – Real Estate Disputes (Birmingham)

Join a nationally recognised legal team with a genuinely broad, challenging and future-facing caseload.

We’re working with a top-tier national law firm that’s looking to welcome a talented and experienced solicitor into their Real Estate Disputes team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a real mix of advisory and contentious work, and who’s ready to play a key role in a respected national team.

What’s the role about?

This isn’t your typical property litigation role. Yes, there’s the classic asset management work – but there’s so much more going on here.

You’ll be working across a varied caseload of high-value, often complex disputes and advisory work for commercial clients ranging from developers and investors to education bodies, charities, and healthcare organisations. The team also advises on matters that spin out of insurance and private client work, so no two weeks look the same.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor – not just stepping in when things go wrong, but helping clients avoid disputes wherever possible. And when litigation is needed? You’ll take the reins and see matters through to resolution, whether that’s in the County or High Court, Tribunal, or through alternative dispute resolution routes like arbitration.

Here’s the kind of work you’ll be tackling:
  • Lease renewals, rent reviews and forfeiture
  • Possession claims and adverse possession
  • Option agreements and telecoms disputes
  • Protestor injunctions, business rates challenges, and rights of way issues
  • Niche matters such as agricultural tenancies and indemnity policy disputes
The firm’s real estate team is one of the largest in the country, and you’ll work hand-in-hand with their non-contentious lawyers, offering clients strategic insight grounded in deep litigation experience.

What’s in it for you?
  • A collaborative, tight-knit Birmingham team with national reach
  • The chance to work directly with senior lawyers on high-profile and complex matters
  • Freedom to develop your own caseload and supervise more junior lawyers
  • Involvement in marketing and business development from day one – with full support
  • Genuinely varied work – this is not a pigeonhole position
Ideal Candidate
You’ll be a solicitor with around 4+ years' PQE and solid hands-on experience in real estate litigation. You should have appeared before tribunals and/or courts and be confident managing your own files. But most of all, we’re looking for someone who wants to think ahead – someone strategic, commercially aware and client-facing.
You’ll also need:
  • Sharp drafting and technical skills
  • Strong time and paper management
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • A willingness to mentor others and contribute to the wider team’s growth
  • The confidence to get stuck into BD and relationship building
Why this role, why now?

This is a team that’s growing, evolving, and offering a refreshing alternative to traditional real estate disputes roles. It’s varied, challenging, and perfect for someone who wants to make a tangible impact – not just within the firm, but for clients navigating an increasingly complex property landscape.
