Employment Associate/Senior Associate – Birmingham (Hybrid Working)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a 4+ PQE Employment Solicitor to join a national employment healthcare team, based in the Birmingham office of a leading UK law firm. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys complex litigation, thrives in multi-disciplinary teams, and has an interest—or background—in the health and care sector (including the NHS or independent providers).
 
You'll work alongside sector-leading partners, supporting a mix of public, private, and voluntary sector healthcare clients. You’ll also collaborate with commercial, regulatory, and corporate teams on workforce issues relating to transactions and projects.

What you'll be doing:
  • Manage a varied caseload of employment matters (primarily litigation and advisory)
  • Advise on TUPE, restructures, senior exits, workforce planning
  • Support employment aspects of corporate/healthcare transactions
  • Supervise junior team members and support their development
  • Deliver client training and assist with business development
What my client is looking for:
  • Strong contentious and advisory employment experience (healthcare sector experience is a plus)
  • Comfortable managing complex litigation as part of a team
  • TUPE and transactional experience desirable
  • NHS or independent healthcare knowledge a bonus (e.g. T&Cs, Practising Privileges)
  • Confident supervising others and managing client relationships
  • Passion for public services and making a difference through law
