Head of Conveyancing to join their growing team. In this key role, you will manage the entire conveyancing process, ensuring smooth and timely property transactions while working closely with external and internal stakeholders.
As the
Head of Conveyancing, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day purchase and sales progression, driving improvements in the conveyancing process, and overseeing a Paralegal. You will be a vital part of the legal team, advising management and ensuring legal risks are minimized.
Key Responsibilities: - Audit and optimize current conveyancing processes to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve overall performance.
- Manage the end-to-end conveyancing process for property purchases and onward sales.
- Recruit, train, and manage a Paralegal.
- Source and onboard third-party law firms and suppliers to meet business needs.
- Streamline and automate processes to boost productivity.
- Prioritize workloads based on client requirements and commercial objectives.
- Direct external solicitors and ensure the timely progression of transactions.
- Collaborate with the Valuation team to incorporate legal considerations into property valuations.
- Advise the Buying team on the legal implications of property purchases.
- Manage in-house legal complaints and compliance, including AML regulations.
- Lead and develop the Paralegal to handle a high volume of transactions.
- Provide legal support across the business, ensuring the company’s security from a legal perspective.
Qualifications & Experience: - Qualified solicitor or licensed conveyancer with significant experience (minimum of 6 years) managing external law firms.
- In-depth knowledge of residential conveyancing and the associated legal process.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing a busy caseload.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong commercial and technical understanding of conveyancing practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Familiarity with technological solutions for transaction management is a plus.
- Experience in tendering processes for third-party services is highly desirable.
