A top 50 international law firm with a strong presence in London is seeking talented and ambitious Associates with 1+ and 4+ years PQE to join the growing Cyber and Data Privacy team. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice on data protection, privacy laws, cybersecurity matters, and emerging digital regulations to a diverse clientele, including multinational corporations, technology firms, and financial institutions.

Known for its commitment to excellence and client-focused approach. The firm boasts one of the largest Privacy & Data practices in Europe, comprising over 20 dedicated advisers and sector specialists. The team is expanding to establish a market-leading cyber and data practice in London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise clients on compliance with data protection and privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act.
  • Assist in designing and implementing global privacy, AI, cyber, and data compliance frameworks.
  • Provide strategic advice on data commercialization, data licensing, and intellectual property matters.
  • Support clients in deploying AI and automation technologies in compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Guide clients through data incidents, including breach notifications, regulatory inquiries, and crisis management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive data governance solutions.
  • Lead breach response efforts, including incident detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Provide training and readiness reviews to enhance clients' cyber resilience.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 1+ or 4+ years PQE in data protection, privacy, or cybersecurity law.
  • Strong understanding of UK and EU data protection regulations, including GDPR.
  • Experience advising clients in sectors such as technology, automotive, retail, or financial services is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying abreast of industry trends.
