A fast-moving, technology-driven law firm is seeking a Compliance Solicitor to support its COLP in ensuring regulatory compliance and overseeing non-qualified staff. Specialising in financial claims, particularly undisclosed commission on car finance agreements, the firm is looking for a candidate with strong regulatory knowledge and experience in risk management.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the firm complies with SRA regulations, developing and implementing compliance policies, and providing supervision and training for non-qualified staff. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the COLP in maintaining compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing compliance policies and procedures.
- Supervising non-qualified staff, conducting audits, and delivering training sessions.
- Managing conflicts of interest, confidentiality issues, and risk assessments.
- Ensuring the firm meets regulatory and reporting obligations, including breach registers and compliance reviews.
- A qualified Solicitor (3+ years PQE) with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance.
- Experience in risk management, compliance, or regulatory oversight within a law firm.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and training skills to support non-qualified staff.
- Knowledge of data protection legislation (desirable).
