Immigration Solicitor/Caseworker – Legal Aid Specialist RoleDouglas Scott is working exclusively with a highly regarded law firm based in Manchester who are seeking an Accredited Solicitor or Caseworker to join their Immigration and Asylum Law Department.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a newly established team focused on legal aid funded matters, following the firm’s successful acquisition of a Legal Aid Contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage legal aid files within Immigration and Asylum law.
- Collaborate with the department head and Senior Caseworkers.
- Handle a range of legal aid Immigration cases and assist with privately funded matters as needed.
- Minimum Level 2 Accreditation (Law Society or OISC).
- Prior experience working on legal aid files is essential.
- Strong understanding of Immigration laws, rules, and procedures.
- Excellent command of English (knowledge of another language is advantageous).
- Solicitors must hold a clean record and valid Practising Certificate.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and support vulnerable clients.
- Join a dynamic, supportive, and expanding department.
- Play a key role in building a dedicated Legal Aid team.
