An esteemed Am Law Top 50 law firm, recognized for its sophisticated and collaborative corporate practice, is seeking a Senior Corporate Associate with 7+ years of substantial transactional experience. This exciting opportunity is open to candidates in any of the firm’s U.S. offices.
 
The role offers a chance to work on high-level, complex transactions for key clients, contributing to a global team with a reputation for excellence. This position promises hands-on experience across a wide spectrum of corporate matters, including cross-border M&A, private equity, capital markets, joint ventures, commercial contracts, and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on M&A, joint ventures, and other corporate transactional matters.
- Manage all aspects of transactions, including due diligence and deal execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams and manage client relationships effectively.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to a U.S. State Bar in good standing; admission to the Bar in your office’s jurisdiction is preferred (or expected shortly after hire).
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in corporate transactional matters, within a law firm.

Preferred Experience:
Mergers & Acquisitions: Including auctions, carve-out transactions, and international business deals.
Familiarity with US securities laws, including public and private offerings, proxy statement preparation, and public company governance (preferred but not required).

Desired Skills:
- Strong team collaboration and practical problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication.
- Proven organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- A commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.

1. What were you doing before you joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment?

Prior to starting at Douglas Scott, I graduated from The University of Strathclyde with a Psychology degree. I then joined another legal recruitment firm in Manchester where I focused on the Chicago legal market for 10 months.

2. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I am looking forward to getting to know the team at Douglas Scott. I am also excited to gain expertise in a new legal market hopefully making lots of successful placements!

3. If you weren’t in recruitment what would you be doing?

If I didn’t go into recruitment, I would have most likely completed my master’s in forensic psychology and pursued a career in that field.

Something people might not know is I was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland.
