Banking & Finance Associate – Join a Global Law Firm

I am assisting a prestigious global law firm in their search for a talented Banking & Finance Associate to join their ambitious and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a broad range of finance matters, representing both lenders and borrowers across high-profile transactions. The role offers the chance to work with top-tier banks, insurers, debt funds, and some of Scotland's most successful corporations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle all aspects of lending transactions for a diverse range of clients, including banks and major corporates.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives, enhancing your professional exposure.

What We’re Looking For:
  • 2-7 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in general banking, from private practice.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate banking law, with experience across a variety of transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage your workload effectively, work well in a team, and use initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

1. What were you doing before you joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment?

Prior to starting at Douglas Scott, I graduated from The University of Strathclyde with a Psychology degree. I then joined another legal recruitment firm in Manchester where I focused on the Chicago legal market for 10 months.

2. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I am looking forward to getting to know the team at Douglas Scott. I am also excited to gain expertise in a new legal market hopefully making lots of successful placements!

3. If you weren’t in recruitment what would you be doing?

If I didn’t go into recruitment, I would have most likely completed my master’s in forensic psychology and pursued a career in that field.
