A leading international law firm, recognised for its expertise in construction law and its specialisation in construction disputes and insurance, is seeking a talented 2-6 PQE Construction Disputes Solicitor for its Glasgow office.
With established offices across the UK and Middle East, and ambitious plans to expand into North America within the next 12-18 months, the firm is a trusted advisor to the construction and engineering sectors. They deliver cutting-edge legal solutions to clients engaged in complex and high-profile disputes on a global scale. The team brings exceptional expertise in insurance, professional negligence, and dispute resolution.
 
We are looking for a highly motivated Construction Disputes Solicitor with solid experience in insurance to join our Glasgow team. You will collaborate with top-tier partners on intricate, cross-border disputes within the insurance sector.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing complex construction disputes and professional negligence cases
  • Providing expert advice on insurance matters, including coverage disputes
  • Drafting legal documents and overseeing litigation/arbitration procedures
  • Working closely with partners on high-value international cases
Requirements:
  • Qualified solicitor 2-6 PQE (UK, Canada, US, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa) with experience in construction disputes and insurance
  • Strong background in litigation/arbitration
  • Proven track record managing multi-jurisdictional cases
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills

1. What were you doing before you joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment?

Prior to starting at Douglas Scott, I graduated from The University of Strathclyde with a Psychology degree. I then joined another legal recruitment firm in Manchester where I focused on the Chicago legal market for 10 months.

2. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I am looking forward to getting to know the team at Douglas Scott. I am also excited to gain expertise in a new legal market hopefully making lots of successful placements!

3. If you weren’t in recruitment what would you be doing?

If I didn’t go into recruitment, I would have most likely completed my master’s in forensic psychology and pursued a career in that field.

Something people might not know is I was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland.
