Douglas Scott was established as an independent recruitment consultancy in September 2004.

The company is run by two directors who had successfully worked together previously as consultants and hoped to bring their commitment and enjoyment of recruitment to grow an independent business.

The Legal service became Douglas Scott’s flagship brand, servicing an ever increasing client base and developing a reputation for the sourcing and selection of outstanding candidates. As the business grew, so did our team, and now boasts in its ranks a number of ex-lawyers as well as specialist legal recruiters, allowing us to offer our clients a unique perspective on their assignments. As independent legal specialists unlike many of our multi-sector competitors, we were able to concentrate on the unique challenges presented by this specific sector, and we found our flexible and cost effective recruitment solutions to be popular amongst small, medium and larger sized legal practices alike.

With our position in the North West market now cemented, and our reputation as one of the region’s leading legal recruitment firms growing, we have successfully expanded our brand into new geographical regions including Yorkshire, the Midlands and the South West. This geographical expansion has resulted in the opening of satellite offices in Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, and most recently in Liverpool, to assist us in servicing client needs from a local base.
